Denmark is the southernmost of the Nordic countries. It is found southwest of Sweden with which it is connected by the Øresund Bridge. Demark consists of a large peninsula called Jutland and many islands such as Zealand, Funen, Lolland, Falster and Bornholm as well as many minor ones which are sometimes called the Danish Archipelago. Denmark was originally the home of the Vikings who were seafaring explorers who invaded and settled in many parts of Europe and Russia. Denmark is famous throughout the world for having the highest level of income equality and one of the world’s highest per capita incomes. Denmark, along with Sweden and Norway is part of Scandinavia. People visit Denmark for its beautiful countryside, majestic coastline and its many historical sights particularly those relating to the Vikings.
