Getting There
The easiest way to arrive from other parts of Europe is by air. Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci airport (FLR) for both national and international airlines is located 5 kilometres from the city centre. You can take a taxi to the city centre for about €20 and it will take about 15 min (depending on traffic). You can also take a bus — Volainbus (Fly in Bus) to the central train station for €4.50 and it will take about 15 min and you can then take a taxi from there to your hotel (no more than €10).

A lot of the cheaper airlines fly into the Pisa Galileo Galilei airport (PSA). From here you can take a taxi into Florence 80 km away and it will cost about €100. A cheaper alternative is to take the train, which is directly connected to the air terminal (sometimes requiring a change in Pisa Centrale station). It will cost about €6 and take about an hour.

If you are traveling from another Italian city or another large city in Europe and you want to arrive right into the centre of Florence another alternative to flying is to take the train. You will arrive at Firenze S. Maria Novella which is Florence’s central station and from here it is just a short trip to your hotel. If your hotel is near the train station you can even walk it depending on your luggage. The place to book your train ticket online is: http://www.trenitalia.com
